Abu Dhabi Education Council has penned a memorandum with the Department of Transport providing 40 brilliant Emirati students with government scholarship cum employment scheme in the field of transport.

The transportation engineering program is offered at the Abu Dhabi Higher Colleges of Technology and after graduating, participants will get a chance to serve the Department of Transport.

Students will also follow internships at the Department of Transport during their training.

Education Council's director-general, Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, said, "It aims to empower young national students and provide them with opportunities to develop strong technical skills and leadership abilities."

The students were chosen from 730 applicants after an interview and a testing process.

The concerned program is scheduled to begin on Sept. 13, 2009.
