Libyan rebels supplied with anti-tank weapons by QatarThe military at Qatar has started training the rebel movement which aims at thwarting the Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

According to Libyan rebels, Qatar's military has sent instructors to the western part of Libya in order to train and prepare combat units. They added that the instructors had been concentrating on the usage of anti-tank weapons skills for allowing the rebels to cease Gadhafi's offensive.

According to Libyan rebel commander Abdul Fatah Yunis, the Qataris are training them the usage of anti-tank along with some other weapons.

Till now, Qatar has been the sole Arab League state that is offering military education and support to the Libyan rebels. It has also been believed that the rebels had been getting help from the surrounding countries of Egypt, Sudan and Saudi Arabia.

According to the rebels, the Qatari military instructors came into the Libyan nation this month itself. They added that Qatar had not only provided with a dozen combat aircrafts for the NATO no-fly zone above Libya, but was even aiding market crude oil exports by the rebels.

Meanwhile, it is being anticipated that Qatar will be joined by other weapons suppliers of the rebel, based in Benghazi.
