DED issues 3224 licenses in first quarter of 2011The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) has made announcement that in the first quarter of 2011 it has issued 3,224 numbers of licenses. There was an increase seen from the last quarter in the year 2010.

On Saturday the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) has said that it has made a rise of six percent from the last quarter of 2010.

During the first quarter of the year the total number of transactions was 117,533.

It was more than the previous year’s last quarter which was 103,067. There was a strong increase of 14 percent as stated by DED.

The number of modified licenses was 12,362, while 21,667 numbers was recorded in the list of renewed licenses.

Moreover there was also a rise of 33 percent in the total number of commercial permits. In the first quarter of 2011 the number of commercial permits was 14,503. The number of trade name reservations reached 12,211 as well.

According to the officials, the recent growth in the number of licenses issued has marked the strong performance of the economy and reflected investor confidence.
