From Thursday, the fourth Gulf Film Festival will start and close to 44 Emirati films are going to be displayed during the occasion. The main idea behind the festival is to showcase the cinematic excellence of the place.

Some 21 films are eying to get the top honors in the Gulf Competition. Student competition has 13 while some 150 are free for the public to watch.

April 20 is going to be the last day for the festival which is taking place in Dubai Festival City. Expressing his view to a private media house, Masoud Amralla al Ali, the festival director said, "The fourth Gulf Film Festival has one of the largest showcases of Emirati films and films made in the UAE, highlighting the strides our filmmakers have made in creating a vibrant home-grown film industry.”
