Dubai Metro Green Line launch gets delayedAs per a report, the launch of Dubai Metro’s Green Line has been pushed back. Earlier, it was supposed to take place in August, 2011.

This is for the second time that the unveiling has been shifted. The first time it was during the month of April, 2011. And as per the new condition, it can only be made available for the passengers by the last quarter of this year.

Green Line is the second network in Dubai Metro, which officially started work in September, 2009. After completion, it is going to have 18 stations that will be covering an area of 22.5 kms. Moreover, it is going to cover the heavily populated areas of Deira and Bur Dubai.

Out of the 18 stations, close to 12 are going to be elevated and 6 will be underground in nature. As of now, it is expected that every hour some 22,000 passengers are going to be covered per hour.

After the start, in November last year the officials said that they are planning to further increase the coverage of Green Line by another 20 kms. Now, they are going to link it to Dubai’s Academic City.
