Alcohol Causes CancerScientists have found that alcohol is the leading cause of cancer and people who tend to drink more are likely to have cancer. This has been concluded from a study which was being carried regarding 10 cancers which happens to men and 33 cancers which occurs to women. This report was released on Friday. This study saw the development of the cancer was mostly influence by the intake of alcohol.

In 2008, around 33% of the upper digestive track cancer, liver cancer, and colon cancer are caused by the intake of heavy alcohol by men. This has been concluded from the study.

The countries which are included were Britain, Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany, and Denmark in which the cancer rate due to alcohol consumption.

It was found that half of the men who drank more than the recommend limit of alcohol, which is 24 grammes of alcohol, have increased chances of having cancer.

"Our data show that many cancer cases could have been avoided if alcohol consumption is limited to two alcoholic drinks per day in men and one alcoholic drink per day in women", said Madlen Schutze, an epidemiologist at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam and lead author of the study.
