When compared to England and Wales, the number of deaths taking place in Scotland was higher and this was a matter of concern, according to committee chairman Ian Davidson.
It was seen during an inspection that the lives of workers were being put under danger by one out of five Scottish construction sites.
The Labour MP for Glasgow South West said, “Every death or serious injury is a human tragedy and we want to work with both sides of industry and the HSE to see what could be done to reduce this toll. There is an acceptance more could be done. Any death or serious accident indicates that something has gone wrong.”
