Free prostate cancer checks will be offered to men for which a Cumbrian support group has teamed up with a national charity.
The need of further investigation is stated by simple blood test that is known as PSA checks.
There were hundreds of men who had turned up for the screening during the previous sessions in Cumbria. The attempt has been made by both Cumbria Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign alongside the Graham Fulford Trust for organizing the next week event, which is taking place in Cockermouth.
Prostate cancer claims thousands of lives every year as in the UK alone about 35,000 men are diagnosed and about 10,000 people die. But prostate cancer can be treated if it is diagnosed at initial stages and this enables men to live a normal life after getting timely treatment.
But although PSA tests can help indicate whether a man is likely to have prostate cancer, there is currently no national screening programme.
In an attempt to make people get their cancer diagnosed early, free tests for men are being offered by the Graham Fulford Trust.
