Surgeon Incites MFA to Close the Legal Proceedings

SingaporeThe controversy surrounding prominent Surgeon Susan Lim over over-charging royal Brunei's Queen is not going to fade away soon. As per reports, the accused, Dr. Lim, has been facing legal charges under Singapore Medical Council (SMC) as recommended by the Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH).

Responding to the allegations, Dr. Lim's lawyer has reportedly charged the SMC of giving unfair treatment to Dr. Lim and further asserted to remove the lawyers of SMC.

Moreover, Dr. Lim has publically accused Professor K. Satku, Director of Medical Services at MOH and the Registrar of SMC, of inciting the royal family to file a case against her.

Further, Dr. Lim has approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to take strict action against the SMC and appealed to stop the legal proceedings against her or else she would reveal confidential information about the royal family to the public.

Responding to the plea made by Dr. Lim, Senior Counsel Alvin Yeo, for SMC, claimed that this was another pressure tactic to alter the decision of the court in her favor.

Responding to the plea of judicial review as demanded by Dr. Lim against the SMC, the high court is pondering over the decision whether or not to allow SMC to set up another disciplinary hearing against her to follow up the case.
