There has been lot of disturbances in Libya. Now the UAE will send 12 warplanes so as to help enforce the no-fly zone over Libya. After this UAE will become the second Arab state to provide military support to the coalition's involvement against Col Muammar Qaddafi's rule.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has said that the UAE will send six Mirages and six F-16 fighter jets to the country.
Till now this is the biggest military contribution by an Arab country to the operation. And this move is the most serious dare to Col Qaddafi's four-decade rule.
The decision to help was an extension of the UAE's obligation to humanitarian operations in Libya as stated by Sheikh Abdullah.
He has said that as per the extension of humanitarian operations the UAE Air Force has given six F-16 and six Mirage aircraft to participate in the tour. This will execute the no-fly zone now established over Libya.
Last week a UN Security Council declaration has been issued. It has given the authorization of using the military force to impose a no-fly zone.
