A new study has stated that development of diabetes can be predicted with five amino acids levels being high and this happens years before the disease actually starts showing its symptoms.
The risk of type 2 diabetes is found out more accurately through blood tests that screened for these amino acids in people who were healthy and also in people who suffered from obesity.
Researcher Thomas Wang, MD, of Massachusetts General Hospital's Cardiovascular Research Center said, "These findings could provide insight into metabolic pathways that are altered very early in the process leading to diabetes. They also raise the possibility that, in selected individuals, these measurements could identify those at highest risk of developing diabetes so that early preventive measures could be instituted."
Type 2 diabetes takes place due to metabolic abnormalities and these can be seen years before the disease actually starts making its presence felt.
An example of this was stated by researchers that was insulin resistance that happens when insulin is not effectively used and this happens long before the levels of blood sugar reach the level that happens in type 2 diabetes.
