Dieting can make you more irritable

Dieting can make you more irritableIt has been claimed that an aggressive frame of mind can be formed by people who indulge more in dieting as compared to those who eat their portions well and people who have controlled portions also tend to prefer violent films than milder versions.

A study was conducted in which it was seen that people who preferred an apple over a bar of chocolate were seen to like movies that had anger quotient in them more.

Angry faces were more liked by people who preferred gift certificates for groceries as compared to a spa service.

More irritation was also seen among people who liked to eat a healthier snack as compared to people who preferred a snack that not healthy but was tasty.

Study authors David Gal, at Northwestern University, in Chicago, and Wendy Liu at the University of California said, "We set out to examine whether exerting self-control can indeed lead to a wide range of angry behaviours and preferences subsequently, even in situations where such behaviours are quite subtle."

It was also seen that people who were more likely to eat healthy food were also more irritable as compared to people who ate tastier food.
