Depression worsens knee arthritisKnee arthritis that is real worse can be experienced by people who suffer from depression, a study has stated.

It was added by the study that mental health problem will affect those who have mild to moderate knee arthritis already.

It was stated by Tae Kyun Kim, study author and director of the Division of Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital's Joint Reconstruction Center, that despite X-rays stating that the illness was not very important, a significant level of pain was experienced by patients due to arthritis.

He added, “The relationship between pain and depression suggests that both should be considered by physicians when treating patients with knee osteoarthritis, particularly in those with X-rays not indicating severe damage to the joint.”

Depression majorly affects people who are old and suffer from mild to moderate knee arthritis.

About 660 people who were 65 years and more were a part of the study and they were assessed from their knee arthritis on X-rays and also the severity of symptom.
