Now the operation theatre videos would be available across the web. This is a latest development in order to promote robot-assisted surgery technology. The Swedish Orthopaedic Institute in Seattle has planned to provide live feed across the internet. The surgery would be a knee replacement operation of a 70 year-old patient.
According to the society, any random person across the world would be able to watch this video free on the website. Option of chatting with the orthopaedic would be available on the screen. Robots would be doing the operation; no human beings would be involved.
Reports suggest that this surgery sounds like the geekiest surgeries ever happened. Sherman Hospital claimed that this surgery would be the first surgery to go live on air.
The Swedish Orthopaedic Institute is not expecting anything dramatic in the surgical procedure. The patient has agreed on the live streaming terms and condition of his surgery.
The live feed would be available from 7a. m. onwards Pacific Time on Tuesday. The discussion of the procedure would also be given at the start of the surgery. The main event would start at 8a. m. PT.
The surgery would be moderated by orthopaedic surgeon James Crutcher.
