For being the youngest boozer in Britain, a toddler has been treated and making experts call this case as horrifying.
It is being thought that for six months the toddler would have been given alcohol and following this treatment had to be given.
Nicolay Sorensen, a spokesman for Alcohol Concern, said, “To be diagnosed alcoholic, it's possible this child would have shown a physical dependency. They would have had to ingest enough to cause withdrawal symptoms. Whatever the circumstances, it is a truly horrifying case and raises very serious child protection issues.”
The three year old has been stated to be Britain’s youngest boozer and the toddler is reported to be from West Midlands.
The identity of the child has been sealed and it has not been named. Due to alcohol consumption for about six months, wild mood swings and withdrawal symptoms of shakes started to happen due to which the treatment had to be given.
There are about 13 children who are under the age of 12 years who have been diagnosed of alcoholism by the Heart of England NHS Trust between 2008 and 2010.
Physical dependency is something that a alcoholic child faces, according to Sorensen, of Alcohol Concern.
