Doctors Ask Psoriasis Patients to Come for TreatmentMedical and health care experts are requesting people to come for the treatment if they are suffering from Psoriasis. Psoriasis is a non-contagious but incurable disease which causes the inflammation of the skin.

Due to this disease, the skin gets scaling and also gets thick. This disease happens to 1% of the people living in Singapore.

A 21-year-old psoriasis patient, Shawn Wong, claimed that he has to suffer the pain and also the social stigma. He also complained of being depressed due to this disease.

"You have a lot of things to be mindful of, in terms of putting on the lotion and psychologically. You have to be careful not to be affected by stares; people may wonder what the red patches on your skin are, and if they are contagious”, claimed by a market professional.

Psoriasis has also been found to affect normal life as well. It opens life to other forms of diseases. These diseases are mostly chronic which includes hypertension and congestive heart failure and type 2 diabetes.

According to the National Skin Centre, there are roughly 2000 new cases each year related to psoriasis.

There are about 50,000 people in Singapore who are suffering from this disease. The types are mainly plaque, guttate, inverse, and pustular.
