Abu Dhabi launched a large campaign for wooing international tourists especially from Germany into the country. The country will promote Yas Island as a key tourist spot and signed a deal with he Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and TUI, one of Europe's largest travel groups, for the same.
Detlef Haner, ADTA's country manager for Germany said, "We want to build on these green shoots of recovery which are being realized throughout the German-speaking markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland."
Abu Dhabi saw unprecedented rise in tourists from Germany as the number of German hotel guests staying in the emirate grew by 26 per cent in January. The country aims to attract a total of 2 million hotel guests this year and tie-ups have been done with many travel agencies for promoting Abu Dhabi as a tourism hotspot.
Omer Kaddouri, the chief operating officer at Rotana hoped that Germany would be one of the larger feeder markets for leisure and travel industry. ADTA's Frank Mullauer hopes 15 per cent rise in business visitors to the emirates this year given to awareness campaign launched by the government agencies in collaboration with various reputed travel agencies.
