Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), a Swiss-Swedish multinational corporation headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, has won an order worth $60m from Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Arabia's national power transmission and distribution utility to boost the power factor of 28 distribution sub-stations.
Under the deal, ABB will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the projects, which are expected to be completed by 2010.
In addition, the company will supply power-factor correction for 19 sub-stations in central, southern and north-western provinces, and for nine sub-stations in around the capital Riyadh.
