Norfolk’s health trusts are offering the perfect opportunity for people to access the support from Smokefree Norfolk who will be around to give people advice on quitting smoking.
This team would be informing smokers about the harm smoking could cause and they would also invite people to hop aboard their camper van to speak privately to one of their specially-trained stop smoking advisers.
They will also be running a stall at King’s Lynn’s Vancouver Quarter shopping centre with non-staffed information stands spread across the county.
They have also decided to encourage more smokers to quit the habit on No Smoking Day by offering a free week’s supply of nicotine replacement patches to the first 50 people visiting one of their staffed stalls.
Smokefree Norfolk team leader, Katie McGoldrick, said, “Smoking is probably the biggest cause of preventable death in the UK and pledging to kick the habit could be the most important thing you have ever done”.
People quitting smoking on No Smoking Day would also be given a chance to win free passes to a range of activities across Norfolk.
They have also issued their toll-free number 0800 0854 113 for any further enquiries and one could also visit www. smokefreenorfolk. nhs. uk for more information about the drive.
