Federal Government Promises Improvement in Mental Health CareThe Federal Government has promised to improve the mental health care across the country. The Government will provide accommodation services and early intervention care for patients with mental health problems.

Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon has granted $134 million to the South Australian Government under the new plans. The South Australian Government was glad to receive the grants and has said that the funding would help them in expanding the services for patients with mental health problems.

Nicola Roxon has also announced 12 Commonwealth-funded health and hospital projects for South Australians. Ms Roxon also announced a grant of $54.7 million for new equipment and facilities at hospitals including Repatriation General Hospital and Modbury Hospital.

John Hill, State Health Minister has said that the grant of funds by the federal government would complement the mental health reforms already carried out in South Australia.

The grant of money by the federal government would fund 179 sub-acute hospital beds in South Australia.
