NHS 24 is starting a new service and as a part of this service, a cyber health check will be something that all Scots who are turning 40 will be invited for.
Across Scotland, about 74,000 people will be asked to either over the phone or online assess their health.
People over 40 will be helped to check their health through The Life Begins at 40 service that is part of a £15m package.
People over 40 will also be benefited by yet another similar project that has a backing of more than £3.5m that will explore universal face-to-face heart MOTs.
It is being thought that a check-up will be received by about 20,000 people across Scotland through the pilot.
Public Health Minister Shona Robison said, “Life Begins at 40 will see 74,000 Scots invited to self-assess their lifestyles and think about their health this year. Prevention is better than cure and we are dedicated to doing all that we can to identify those at risk as early as possible.”
It was stated by NHS 24 medical director Dr George Crooks that after turning 40, one has to make more healthy choices about lifestyle and this project will be beneficial for many.
