Risk of fatal heart attack rises with obesity

Risk of fatal heart attack rises with obesityIt has been stated by a new study that heart attack deaths are more common among those who are obese and it does not matter if they are aware of the cardiovascular disease.

Though it cannot be figured out that what was the association between heart disease getting developed due to excess weight independent of various risks added by factors like arterial diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The finding stems from an analysis involving roughly 6,000 middle-aged men.

Researchers have stated that the reason behind heart attack death is chronic inflammation that takes place along with weight gain.

Jennifer Logue, a clinical lecturer of metabolic medicine with the British Heart Foundation's Cardiovascular Research Centre at the University of Glasgow, in Scotland, said, "Obese, middle-aged men have a 60 per cent increased risk of dying from a heart attack than non-obese middle-aged men, even after we cancel out any of the effects of cholesterol, blood pressure and other cardiovascular risk factors."

It simply clarifies that fatal heart attacks might be taking place just due to obesity itself and the reason is being found out.
