French PM calls for stronger ties with Middle East countries

Francois-FillonFrench Prime Minister Francois Fillon has asked for the need of having better dialogue process between the West and the Middle East for enhancing mutual understanding and bilateral ties. He was here in Abu Dhabi for inaugurating the campus of Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi (PSUAD).

Fillon said, "There are few places that such a dialogue could take root as well as here. It is a place where we learn how one civilization can feed the development of another."

Terming Middle-East as a birthplace of civilizations, he said that the country will offer better research opportunities than West.

Abu Dhabi's Sorbonne opened its Middle-East branch in 2009 and more than 600 students are taking education from the university. Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi (PSUAD) celebrated its fifth year in the UAE.

Dr Mugheer Al Khaili, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Education Council expressed, that PSUAD is a symbol of civilizations' links and a convergence point.
