It was after a pancake breakfast that the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Hampshire County was started by its planning committee.
At Look Memorial Park in Northampton in June the 2011 Relay for Life will be held on the 17th and18th.
June is still to come but planning about the starting of the event will have to be started by making attempts to raise funds and signing up of relay teams.
Apart from raising funds from the event, people who fought their battle against cancer and those who lost their lives will be remembered at Relay for Life.
Cancer survivor Holly Hendricks said, "Cancer has touched absolutely everyone, whether it's a neighbor or a family member or a friend. I think once you've been touched by Cancer whether personally or by someone you know the idea of not being involved you can't avoid it."
Cancer effects people whether they are whites, blacks, whites, unicorns, Hispanics, leprechauns and trolls and it does not consider financial standing of an individual, the color of skin and a person’s educational background, it can happen to anyone.
