Chocolate is Good for Health

ChocolateChocolate, if consumed in limits, is very beneficial to health as it is made from the beans of the cacao tree which have large amount of antioxidants, thus protects the human being from the heart disease and cancer. Chocolate tends to improve the cholesterol, lowers the blood pressure and helps in preventing clotting of blood and also helps in improving the circulation of the blood.

The thumb rule is that the darker the chocolate the more richer it is in cocoa and milk chocolates contains the lowest amount of cocoa in it.

Chocolate increases the psychoactive feel-good compounds, the same that stimulates the brain in love, have an orgasm or sue cannabis.

The study has been published in February 7 edition of Chemistry Central Journal revealed that chocolates are richer in polyphenols and flavanols type of antioxidants than fruit juice.

The research has been conducted by the researchers at Hershey Center for Health & Nutrition.

The researchers said, "Cacao seeds should be considered a 'superfruit' and products derived from cacao seed extracts, such as natural cocoa powder and dark chocolate, as 'superfoods.'"

The US-based National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute analyzed 5,000 people and found that those eating chocolate more than five times in a week are 60 percent less prone to heart disease.
