A baby was rescued from a women’s toilet by two Bi-Lo Center cleaning crew members. Baby’s mother said that she did not know she was pregnant and her family too is supporting her.
The two workers Eder Serrano and Marco Calle have been marked as heroes after they did this. While narrating their experience they said that when they saw the boy he was purple and was not breathing at all.
According to Calle, the baby was taken onto a fold-out changing table that was on the bathroom wall after pulling him out of the toilet. Then 911 was called up by Serrano.
Dispatcher’s instructions were then followed by them and Calle tied the umbilical cord and cleared the baby’s mouth with his hands that were shaking.
Roger Newton, president and general manager of the Bi-Lo Center, said, “I think they’re heroes.”
According to Greenville Police Det. Tim Conroy, after 38 months of pregnancy, which is almost full term, the baby was delivered by Ann Blackham who is 24 years old and delivered him inside the bathroom quietly and left him there only.
The baby’s condition was stated to be stable now.
