Polished diamonds worth of $7.2 million have been auctioned by Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE). These diamonds are of 34,000 carats and all the buyers were given a choice of different sizes, colors and also qualities from where they could pick up.
The largest diamond of the group was one which was 21 carats. During the event, close to 130 people took part and most of them were representing one of the 60 diamond companies that decided to take part. Besides that, some of the most famous diamond merchants also took part in it.
These dealers had come from Belgium, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand, among others. Diasqua DMCC was the company behind the auctioning and was one of the first auctions of polished diamonds in Middle East.
Diasqua is one of the registered members of diamond exchange and wanted to fully utilize the infrastructure of for being able to provide for such a platform.
Auction took place in the state-of-the-art Almas Conference Centre which was chosen for the fact that it provides for every possible means that such an event needs.
