ADEC starts drive to improve private education

ADECA comprehensive strategy has been started by Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and the main idea behind it is to improve student achievements. It would also mean that private education in Abu Dhabi will be made world class and the onus of the same is now on the government.

The areas where ADEC will have to work particularly are development of knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes. These are the pillars on which future education of a child stands. Once the foundation is strong it would be easier to bring in world-class private education institutions.

H. E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of ADEC said private education at present constitutes 31 per cent of Emirati student enrollment and the rest 78 per cent is filled in by expatriate. This is wrong and calls for development of private education infrastructure and that is the vision for now on.

But, he added, it means that private institutes should be both private as well as high quality so that right kind of talent can be prepared and global workforce can be built up.
