Agreement for creating a clean coal based power

DEWANine international companies have agreed to bid for a technical study to come up with enhanced coal energy. This has been reported by Gulf News. The aim of these bids is to develop clean coal based power.

The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority has assumed that they have been forming plans with Dubai's Supreme Council of Energy to make certain supplies which could meet the rising energy requirements and spreading energy sources.

The companies were invited by DEWA for proposals on November 1st 2010. This was held in Dubai with the purpose for having a technological study on coal-based power generation.

A spokesperson of DEWA has stated that by having the approval of these bids will support two main intentions. Firstly, it would lead to the development and increase worldwide status of Dubai. Secondly, it would protect the environment and natural resources from pollution.

MD & CEO of DEWA, Mr. Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer has said that by having this study they can take a step for the functioning of the energy diversification strategy. This was implemented by the Dubai's Supreme Council of Energy. In this scheme, coal is considered as an important part of Dubai's energy portfolio.
