International drug gangs have been arrested

dubai-policeThree members belonging to an international gang of drug smugglers and money launderers have got handcuffed at Dubai with the help of the security agencies in the UK, Holland and South Africa, as reported by a top police official from Dubai last Monday.

The elaborate details of the mission, which had the codename 'Operation Shark', were declared by Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazina, the Deputy Commander in Chief of Dubai Police. He has informed that they had taken into custody four members who were alleged as international gang in Dubai on 10th and 12th December respectively.

Three of them have got a reference to the Public Prosecution, while the fourth one had to go to a European nation where he was a wanted person for other cases.

The names of the arrested, however, were not revealed.

The Dubai Police has further said that on 10th December, the security persons in South Africa had handcuffed seven suspects and took away a container carrying in it 316 kg of cocaine and 100,000 drug pills.

On the same day itself, the security persons in Holland were able to arrest three suspects and catch hold of their hashish weighing 637kg, marijuana weighing 524kg, a gun, as well as money amounting to Dh1.5million.
