Board of Directors to resign from Warid/Wateen

Warid-TelecomMembers Board of Directors, Warid Telecom and Wateen Telecom and the chief members of the Dhabi Group, Mr. Bashir Tahir and Pervez Shahid have, according to reports have withdrawn from their posts, as confirmed by a local newspaper and certain other multiple sources.

According to the newspaper, the resignation from the two brothers was because of certain personal reasons.

Mr. Bashir A. Tahir was coincidentally the Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Group, as well as a Member of the Board Advisory Committee and Board Audit Committee for Bank Alfalah Ltd.

Mr. Tahir has been honored with one of the greatest civilian awards of Pakistan, i. e. the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2005 for being recognised of his part in the different facets of banking, financial advisory and investments in the country of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Mr. Pervez Shahid became the chief-most person for Warid, Wateen and Bank Alfalah in Pakistan. He was formally the executive head of the strategic planning department, Bank Alfalah as well as the authorized power of attorney holder for Warid Telecom.

The two brothers had been operating all of Dhabi Group's business in Pakistan, including Wateen, Warid, Bank Al Falah, UBL, Raseen Telecom, Razi Health Care, etc.
