Retailers to come up with secret strategy against GST tax

gstThe authorities are finding ways to collect more taxes, wherever applicable. It has been recently noticed that the retailers are forming secret strategy to campaign against the online shopping on foreign websites, which are still services tax free. The retailers are expected to create a whole lot of noise in order to grab attention for their campaign.

The information came out when FD, the PR Company which is behind the whole campaign, sent an internal email to all the parties concerned. The first thing as the mail suggests is going to be coming out with fill-page ads in newspapers running in metros.

This is being done, as newspapers and print media is said to be the ones which come out with most impactful results on the readers.

FD has a strong list of retail clients under it and includes big names like Solomon Lew and Redgroup Retail. While Solomon has some of the popular brands like Just Jeans, dotti, Portmans, JayJays and Smiggle under his ownership, Redgroup has Borders and Angus & Robertson.

However, it has also been noticed that many of the consumers are not happy with the way prices are being decided by local retail owners. That being the case, the campaign, which is just in its third day could have backfired on the campaign.
