A couple of Pakistani brothers alleged of having accumulated funds and recruited jihadists for Al-Qaeda are currently on trial in the United Arab Emirates, reportedly.
The pair, who is accused of operating a jihadi organisation and helping and abetting the Al-Qaeda, agreed that they were associated with the jihadist network.
The report also said in the court that the brothers had direct communication with a certain senior member of the Al-Qaeda group.
The two suspects were identified as "AkW," a 49-year-old project manager, and "AsW," a 43-year-old marketing manager. According to the report, the two had come to the Gulf emirate in the year 2008.
The two men got arrested by the UAE security forces at AsW's residence in the northern UAE emirate of Ras al-Khaimah last April, due to a tip-off from the Pakistan authorities.
But in Monday's hearing in the court, it was told that the brothers had confessed to being associated with the Al-Qaeda group under pressure and force.
Meanwhile according the prosecutors’ allegations, AkW had posted a couple of laptops, a pair of telescopes, two pencil torches, a couple of Swiss army knives and also a tent to the Al Qaida inside Pakistan.
