It is expected by the world's largest airport retailer, the Dubai Duty Free to double its annual revenue to $2.56 billion (Dh9.4 billion) in six years. This can be on the support of increasing passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport.
Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free held that traffic through the airport is encouraging. Last year it increased between 14-15 per cent and this year it is expected to be up to 46 million passengers.
Moreover in coming year it may be up to 52 million. If some more passengers arrive, then their number shall exceed little.
Yesterday the world's largest airport retailer celebrated its 27th birthday. There was an offer given by Dubai Duty Free to shoppers that was a 25 per cent discount on many items. By year-end, McLoughlin assumed that total sales for 2010 will strike Dh4.6 billion or 14.5 per cent increase more than last year.
If it happens then Dubai Duty Free is secure to keep its status as the biggest in the world by London Heathrow Airport and Incheon International Airport.
