Alleged drug user accuses police set-up

Abu-Dhabi-Criminal-CourtA man accused of being a drug user yesterday made allegations of the police having setting him up as he had denied providing them with the names of drug dealers.

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance even heard that the same sample of urine from AA, a Jordanian, had tested not only positive but also negative for the drugs.

He along with MS, an Emirati had been charged of having the possession and consumption of hashish and other psychotropic substances.

The Jordanian was further charged with helping in the consumption of drugs. According to the prosecutors, he offered MS hashish and then they both smoked it together. Both have been serving a term in jail for the past six weeks.

AA was caught by the police and arrested when he was driving his car, even though it was not clarified in the court if he was driving when he got arrested or not. However, this much is sure that the police discovered drugs in his car and even at his house, and this was heard in the court. Still, the source of this piece of information is not yet clear.
