UAE side is eyeing to win the Asian Champions League if they are able to qualify for it. But that does not deter Mohammed Khalfan al Rumaithi, the president of the Football Association who sounded confident about the team's future good performance and said that he was satisfied with their performance of Pro League side Al Wahda.
The team won one match and lost two. Meanwhile, it was seen that al Rumaithi has been a busy man and as quite interested and very involved with the country's way towards World Cup. He went down to Qatar to see both the semi-finals but was conspicuously missing during the press conference organized after the matches.
Meanwhile, the hosting rights for the football event have been given to Japan after staying with UAE for almost two seasons. But unfortunately, they have not been very memorable one for the local sides.
The team was not even able to clear the initial phase where they lost 2-0 to Auckland. But this time, the team has done well and was able to go into the quarters but for that they defeated Papua New Guinea's Hekari United 3-0. Keeping that in mind, the winning was not very impressive.
