The investments made by UAE in the Egyptian nation have touched Dh36.7 billion ($10 billion) within 520 projects, as reported by the latest issue by the UAE Minister of Economy.
These investments comprise of projects in the industry, construction, urban development, housing, infrastructure, financing projects, communications, and also the agricultural and tourist development projects.
The value of trade of Egypt with the UAE grossed to about $766 million in the initial 7 months of the year. The exports by Egypt to the UAE during that time reached $351 million. Egyptian exports to the UAE include copper cables, fresh and dried oranges, crystal, furniture, tobacco and potatoes. On the other hand the imports to Egypt from the UAE reached $415 million and included things like diesel, fuel oil, polyethylene, pharmaceuticals, plastic sheets, carpets and polymers.
Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the Minister of Economy came to Egypt and was welcomed by Dr Ahmad Nazif, the Prime Minister of Egypt, and the Minister of Trade and Industry and Acting Minister of Investment Mr. Rashid Mohammad Rashid.
Dr Nazif had discussions with Al Mansouri after which he stressed the Egyptian government's enthusiasm to encourage the economic and investment relations of the UAE with Egypt.
