Living with diabetes is not tough

diabetesAccording to Counties Manukau District Health Board, recent reports on diabetes have sent some misleading messages and need to be corrected.

The board wants people to know that diabetes can be controlled and it wants to reiterate the importance of controlling high blood-sugar levels and the need to continue regular treatment.

The board wants people to know that the amount of water present in a body is not related to diabetes. Due to a body not making enough insulin, it is a condition caused when too much sugar in the blood is cased.

One can keep a control over high blood-sugar levels.

To prevent further complications from diabetes in the long term, people with type-2 diabetes are often prescribed pills or take insulin to control their sugar levels. For living, all people with type-1 diabetes need to take insulin.

Treatment that has been recommended by doctors should not be stopped by diabetics. If they stop the treatment then their lives can be endangered and further complications from the condition can take place.

Complications like blindness and loss of limbs, kidney failure can be prevented by the way in which diabetics manage the condition. By managing the condition well, sufferers can live a longer and better life.
