Rough weather calls off the last leg of Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge

Adventure ChallengeBad weather forced the last leg of the Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge to be called off. The event was for covering the 129 km sea route in form of kayaking and the step was taken so that teams are safe.

Such incidents are nothing new and weather changes keep affecting the sporting event every year. But there was nothing to worry for the spectators as the finals are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi today.

These finale will be pure power-sea kayaking sprint and are going to be organized at the Lulu Islands. The place is situated just 500 meters away from Corniche, the capital city.

Faisal al Sheikh, the Events Manager for the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the ministry behind the event, said that safety of the athletes is a priority and such bad situation was never seen in the four year long history of the sports.

But weather can turn bad anytime, he added, and the athletes should be prepared to face any kind of eventuality. He also assured that the final is going be very attractive; also that the teams have rested more fighting spirit can be seen in their approach.
