MENA countries asked to join the fight against diabetes

Hanif-HassanDr. Hanif Hassan, UAE's health minister has said all the countries of the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) should come together and start a campaign against diabetes. This can be happen when these countries can pool in not only their money but also their efforts.

This is important considering that diabetes tide has been on the rise and has had and is having serious implications on the people. For healthy lifestyle this is a serious warning and all these developing countries should control them at any cost.

The minister who was speaking during the opening session of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Diabetes Leadership Forum in Dubai said that it is urgently needed that diabetes rise be controlled.

For the same short, medium and long term strategic preventions along with control and educational plans, are needed. Well-cut and well-studied plans for fighting out the disease in the region should be put forward and worked upon.

Forecasts have shown that diabetes alone is going to deplete the healthcare budget of MENA nations by 13 per cent by 2025.
