Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al-Nuhayyan, the UAE Minister of Public Works has alleged that there is a crisis of the local press as the past 39 years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had media achievements.
On Monday the UAE's news agency (WAM) reported that the UAE have taken a turn from a local to international surrounding by the media achievements. It happened due to Sheikh Hamdan, the great professional and technical leaps. He is also head of the USE's National Media Council.
Moreover he said that guiding lessons has been recognized by the UAE with best media institutions and academies in the world. There has been a construction of Mass Communication departments in government and private universities.
There were 15 TV channels, 24 radio stations, nine daily Arabic newspapers and seven English dailies. Moreover there was tens of weekly and monthly magazines, and specialized periodicals as alleged by Sheikh Hamdan.
He said there were four free media zones in the UAE. It addresses media organizations - TV and radio stations, and written press.
