Abu Dhabi to host two new events

Abu Dhabi to host two new eventsThis week is a great honour for Abu Dhabi as he is going is to inaugurate two major UN events decided on ICT. The first event is the fifth annual forum of the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID). This event will be from 5-8th December and the other event is the World Summit Award for Mobile Content (WSA-Mobile Content).

GAID was started in the year 2006 to present a stage for the vision of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and to use ICT to aid achieve international development ambitions. However the theme of event in this year `ICT for Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): Moving from Advocacy to Actions'.

In this event there will be get-together of more than 600 delegates from government, private sector, NGOs and academia.

A conference of Organizing Committee will be held. This will be managed by HE Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori. He is the Director General of Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre, (ADSIC, the governmental organiser of the event).

He will be accompanied by many persons like Talal Abu Ghazaleh, GAID chairman, HE Mohammad Ahmad Al Bowardi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council; Peter Bruck, chairman of the WSA and many more.
