In a major announcement made by Vitaly Petrov, he has recently revealed that he has been the target of shocking abuse from so-called F1 ‘fans’ on the social networking page on Facebook.

It is to be mentioned here that Russian was left a string of sickening insults and bitter accusations wherein fans were accusing him as a reason for Fernando Alonso failing to clinch a third career crown in the top flight this year.

It may be recalled here that Abu Dhabi season finale just under a fortnight ago saw Alonso coming out from his sole pit-stop of the race on lap 15 behind Petrov. It may be noted here that Petrov was on an advantage of the opening lap safety car period to stop early and complete his own mandatory tyre-change.

While the Spaniard tries to find a way past his Russian counterpart but in a race to finish seventh Alonso took him away from the title and the fans were very angry on the same.

It is expected that the next season will give a chance to Alonso to give a nice answer to the Russian.
