UAE's Axiom in deliver contract with Blackberry maker

Axiom-TelecomThis week Dubai-based Axiom Telecom is launched the UAE's first public offering for two years. A direct supply agreement is marked with BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM. TO).

Axiom's IPO prospectus has the non-exclusive deal listed in it. It is seen by Reuters. The validity of this is for one year from Nov. 19, however can be renewed.

If this agreement is signed then Axiom will be capable to obtain BlackBerry handsets and accessories directly from the manufacturer, before through an mediator. The deal is accessed in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and Bahrain.

Axiom declared in its prospectus that they believe that by this master supply union will have an optimistic impact on their results of operations and, especially on their gross profit and gross margin. If they get success then they will be able to source BlackBerry smartphones directly at a cheaper cost than through a distributor.

However the conditions of the deal were not disclosed, but Axiom said in the prospectus that its BlackBerry distribution supplier knew the conditions of the deal and cut supplies from August and that will likely crash revenue in the second half of 2010.
