Seattle Pacific women's soccer makes up to NCAA 16

Sarah McTigueSoon after the UC San Diego's Sarah McTigue found the upper-left corner of the net with 17 minutes to play on Thursday, it was announced that Tritons survived a late onslaught by Seattle Pacific to capture the West Regional title with a 1-0 victory in the NCAA Division II women's soccer championships.

It is to be mentioned here that McTigue, who was leading the UCSD attack throughout with four shots got the ball into net after taking a throw-in from Shelby Wong.

While the Falcons senior goalkeeper Maddie Dickinson managed to get a hand on the same but could not keep it much away from the goal and hence the tournament came to an end. SPU coach Check Sekyra said that the tea, played in a tired mode and many players were suffering from illness in this game.

Moreover, the coach also mentioned the fact that there were many chances in the first half for scoring with the team and it took an outstanding goal to beat Maddie. Going by the aftermath, Falcons outshot 10-8 UCSD and enjoyed a 5-3 advantage in the first half as well.
