`Diyafat Al Eid', an Islamic communal custom set in in the values of giving and sharing during the period. In Dubai to remember this in the entire mall the visitors were greeted with sweets.

The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE) was the organizer of the `Eid in Dubai' events. The giving sweets were one of the parts of the event. In year 2008 this was launched in Dubai as one of the most essential celebrations. It also attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from every region.

On Tuesday, the first day of Eid the malls were full of peoples for shopping. Many people came to observe the various entertainment events in joining malls across the emirate.

PR head of DEPE, Naser Hakim held that `Eid in Dubai' is celebrated across Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, Deira City Centre, and Dubai Festival City and many events are held. Friday will be the last day of celebration.

At Deira City Centre the First `Eid in Dubai' lottery draw was held. It is a come-on and a reward to shoppers, who paid out Dh200 in a mall.
