A Filipina housemaid got sentenced along with her Bangladeshi boyfriend to 100 lashes each after being found guilty by a United Arab Emirates court of having an illicit affair.

The Filipina, identified just as N. M., was ordered by the Sharjah Sharia Court to be jailed and deported for "unlawful sex" also.

The boyfriend, also identified only as S. M., has been ordered by the court to be jailed for one year because of entering the house of the sponsor without having permission. He too will be deported after having served his sentence.

The records of the Court show that the Filipina had sex with her boyfriend in her sponsor's house in Sharjah, and was accused of bringing him to the house during the absence of the sponsor's family. However, the boyfriend was spotted by the sponsor while he leaving the house once. The police was notified by him at once.

The lovers were arrested by the police and they immediately admitted to the crime.

According to the Shariah law, Muslims who commit adultery are to be lashed and deported if they are expatriates, while non-Muslims are to be jailed and deported. Both of them are Muslims.
