The historic treaties were signed by British Prime Minister and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, which entails the joint cooperation between two nuclear- power countries on defense which will include the joint use of aircraft carriers and a joint rapid deployment force. Further they will form a shared army expeditionary force.
The nuclear treaty which has been signed between two countries will lead to a center in each country to test the nuclear technology. In a bid to cut national deficit, both countries had signed the defense related treaty. In a bid to reduce defense related expenditure, the British govt. had declared cuts in its armed forces.
These treaties have led to the nostalgia of 1960s and 70s, when French and British collaborated to bring a revolution in air travel and produced the plane which offered the fastest supersonic travel to customers.
At that time, a British copywriter suggested the name concord, which meant friendship, co-operation or agreement for the new aircraft. After some time, the French President, Charles de Gaulle declared the name of the project as Concorde in French.
