Dell is planning to replace BlackBerry smartphones used by its employees at present with its own devices based on Windows Phone 7.
The company has decided to standardize the Phone 7 mobile operating system for 25,000 employees and will also offer an enterprise service to its partner firms to shift to the devices based on Microsoft's platform.
The company will give new Venue Pro smartphones to its employees on returning their BlackBerry devices. The company aims to save upto 25 per cent of its mobile communications costs after it switches from RIM devices to its own based on WM 7, according to Dell's chief financial officer, Brian Gladden.
A spokerperson from the company said that the program will begin soon. Gladden said that the Venue Pro will be the first device provided internally to the employees, but it will also offer Android powered phones.
