UK-French UAV plan pushed by BAE and Dassault

bae systemsOn Tuesday, a joint plan to develop unmanned planes for both countries had been made by Britain's BAE Systems (BAES. L) and France's Dassault Aviation, for developing closer military ties.

To match with an Anglo-French summit on the subject of defence co-operation, both companies have promoted the idea in a letter addressed to the leaders of Britain and France.

A source who is familiar with the matter said that to maintain and upgrade the technologies which are required to develop the future unmanned fighter programs, these two companies have appealed to have closer ties between France and Britain. Another source who is privy to the matter said that the cooperation between France and Britain is sensible way considering the budget pressures and to sustain the UAV programs.

Considering the expenses for the research and development of unmanned planes and to maintain the capability of the military aircrafts, both countries will have to co-operate with each other. As per BAE Systems, considering the research and development done by both BAE Systems and Dassault, it makes sense to cooperate with each other to keep the cost of development low for both of them.
